Kristian Van de Cauter

Kristian Van de Cauter built his knowledge and taste over years—first in retail and management, later in wine and spirits. Always with the same guiding principle: recognizing quality, daring to make choices, and resisting the temptation to sell easily.

In 2009, he founded Paradisi in Destelbergen, initially focusing on wines and spices. Through extensive travel and direct contact with producers, his perspective broadened. Not just one country, not just one style, but a curiosity about what's happening globally—from South Africa to Europe and beyond.

In 2019, Paradisi secured a permanent location in the center of Aalst. The shop became an extension of Kristian's approach: no mass-produced goods, no imposed trends, but a carefully curated selection of wines and spirits with character. Bottles with a story to tell, sourced from makers who forge their own path.

The selection is broad and international: wines from various countries and regions, complemented by rum, gin, whiskey, mezcal, tequila, cognac, and specialty liqueurs. What unites everything is not origin, but attitude—independent, distinctive, and consistently chosen.

Kristian is known for his sharp selection and clear vision. What's readily available everywhere doesn't end up on the shelf here. Paradisi isn't a showcase of everything that exists, but a collection of what endures. Regularly updated with tastings, encounters, and discoveries.

Paradisi is for those who look beyond the label. For those who love to taste, compare, and discover. And for those who understand that character—in wine, in spirits, and in people—always makes the difference.
